Privacy Policy
At Jivily ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Jivily Chrome Extension (the "Extension").
1. Introduction
Jivily: AI Focus Guard is designed to help you stay productive by using AI to classify web content and manage your focus. To provide these services, we collect minimal data necessary for authentication, subscription management, and AI-powered classification.
2. Information we collect
To determine whether a website is productive or not when the user is not logged in we process:
- Page title (e.g., “Funny Cat Videos – YouTube”), but we don't store it or identify with a specific account
- Url / Domain (e.g., “youtube.com/watch?v=...”), but we don't store it or identify with a specific account
- Anonymous technical ID (userId) generated locally to manage daily API limits. It does not identify you.
- Local data: Your To-Do lists, focus stats, and settings are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and a unique User ID via Supabase Auth.
- Subscription Data: We store your PRO status, subscription ID, and customer ID to verify access to premium features (e.g., Hard Mode, extended timers).
Additionally we collect the following for a logged in user:
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected information to:
- Synchronize your settings and tasks across devices.
- Verify your Jivily PRO subscription status.
- Analyze whether a website is "productive" or "distracting" based on your settings.
4. Data Storage and Security
We take security seriously.
- Authentication & Database: We use Supabase, which employs industry-standard encryption and Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that only you can access your profile data.
- Local Storage: Sensitive productivity data remains on your device and is not uploaded to our servers unless required for a specific cloud-synced feature.
All processing happens in real time. Jivily itself does not store page titles, domains, or urls. For operational and security reasons, our service providers (Cloudflare & OpenAI) may retain short-term logs or metadata; we do not use these logs to identify users or for profiling. See Third-Party Services for more detail.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active and for a limited period thereafter to comply with legal and tax obligations. Account information, status is the only data we store, because we have to. The extension can be used without account creation. Titles and urls are not stored after the AI returns a classification and are not linked to any account.
6. Permissions Explanation
- tabs / activeTab / host permissions – used only to read page titles and urls.
- storage – used to save anonymous ID and preferences.
- alarms – used to maintain periodic checks required by Chrome service worker limitations.
- scripting – used to display the on-page alert box directly into websites the user visits. It is not used to modify, collect, or alter content beyond displaying the Jivily warning.
7. Third-Party Services
Jivily uses a small number of third-party services to operate securely and reliably. These are processors acting on our behalf; we only send the minimal data required for each service to perform its function.
- OpenAI (LLM) – receives only the page title and url to classify whether the page is productive. We do not send browsing history or personal identifiers. OpenAI may retain request logs for a short period for abuse prevention and quality; see OpenAI’s data usage policy for details.
- Cloudflare Workers – serves as a secure relay/edge for AI requests. Cloudflare may retain short-term logs and standard HTTP metadata for security and operational reasons. We do not store user-identifying logs on our servers.
- Supabase - Provides our backend infrastructure, including user authentication and the storage of your profile and subscription status.
- Lemon Squeezy – Our Merchant of Record and payment processor. They handle all payment details (credit card info, billing address) securely. Jivily does not see or store your full payment information.

8. Monetization and Payments
- Subscription Data & Payment Processing – we store only the information necessary to verify PRO subscription status. All payment data (e.g., credit card numbers) is processed exclusively by our payment processors: Lemon Squeezy / Paddle. Jivily does not store or have access to full payment information.
- Billing & Invoices – Data required for invoicing (name, email, billing address) is securely handled by the payment processor only.
- Automatic Subscription Renewal – PRO subscriptions may automatically renew according to the processor’s settings. Users can cancel anytime through their payment account.
- Anonymous Payment Analytics – We may analyze anonymized subscription and conversion data to improve the product. No personally identifying information is used for analytics.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in the EU), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can request a data export or account deletion by contacting us at the email address provided below. You may reset the local settings by reinstalling the extension.
10. Children’s Privacy
Jivily does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under 13, you should use Jivily only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
11. Changes to This Policy
If Jivily evolves, we may update this Privacy Policy. We will always maintain transparency and never introduce tracking or additional data collection without clear user consent.
